The Occupational Therapy (OT) department at DAIH is a key component of our therapy services, dedicated to achieving several vital objectives for our residents. Foremost, among these objectives is the preservation of our residents' capacities and their continued engagement with society and their occupations. Our overarching goal is to cultivate an environment where residents feel a sense of belonging similar to that of their own homes.

 

Our occupational therapists employ various interventions with the elderly to achieve several targets as follows:

🔹Cognitive functions rehabilitation

    • Target:
    • to provide useful mental activities for the patient in accordance with his mental abilities.
    • To improve and/or maintain the mental abilities of the patient.
    • To help the patient securing a better quality of life.

 

🔹Upper limbs exercises

    • Target: To enhance the mobility of limbs and enable their utilization in a range of activities.

 

🔹Autonomy exercises

    • Target: To guarantee the patient's autonomy in performing daily activities.

 

🔹Enrollment in clubs such as crafts club, cooking club, Cinema Club, walking club, and sewing club.

 

Furthermore, the Occupational Therapy (OT) department facilitates daily recreational activities including social games, movies, and television to engage and entertain residents. Additionally, the OT department organizes a variety of monthly and weekly activities, along with special celebrations.
